The Legacy
Agenda
A legislative monitoring framework built for the African and Caribbean diaspora. We track the bills that determine whether our community can fully participate in Michigan's economy. We engage them with the full weight of our institutional credibility.

Why This Matters
The Gap No One Else Is Filling
GABA is the only Michigan organization operating at the intersection of Black communities and immigrant communities. Black immigrant children fall through the gap between Black-serving and immigrant-serving institutions. The Legacy Agenda is how we ensure the policy landscape reflects that reality.
Our Lens
Economic Impact First. Always.
Every bill we track is evaluated through a single lens: what does this mean for the economic participation of African and Caribbean diaspora families and businesses in Michigan? We do not react to headlines. We analyze legislation and engage it strategically.
The Moment We Are In
Second Act of a Generational Movement
GABA has served Michigan's diaspora community for over 12 years. The Legacy Agenda is the policy infrastructure for the next chapter. We are not reacting to threats. We are building the architecture that will determine whether our community is written into Michigan's economic future or left out of it.
