Your Appointment Slip and Proof of Payment to The Consulate AND The GABA Foundation Please bring your confirmation from the Nigerian Immigration Service that shows your completed appointment and payment. This helps us confirm your status and ensures a smooth check-in on the day of service. The Consulate will not accept you for your appointment without this document, and we will not be accepting any payments in person on the day of the event.
Original Supporting Documents: Depending on the service you’re receiving, you may be required to show original forms of identification such as a driver’s license, birth certificate, Social Security card, or other supporting documentation. We encourage you to bring all relevant documents to help prevent any delays or complications.
Prepaid Priority Mail Express Envelope and Stamp: For most passport and visa applications, the Consulate requires a USPS Priority Mail Express envelope along with a Priority Mail Express stamp (currently $31.40). These items can be purchased at your local post office or online at store.usps.com.
If you already have your acknowledgment slip or payment receipt, please email us a copy in advance. This will allow us to update your file ahead of time and avoid any delays at check-in.
Arrival and Check-In:
We ask that all participants arrive 10 to 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment. Upon arrival, you will be checked in and directed to the appropriate area. Early arrival helps us manage flow and ensure that each individual receives timely service. Please Note: The Consulate General of Nigeria in New York will provide all official consular services, including application processing, biometrics, and documentation. The National Identification Number (NIN) is a unique 11-digit identification number issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to Nigerian citizens and legal residents. It serves as a primary form of identification and is required for a wide range of official services, including passport renewals, banking transactions, voter registration, government benefits, and other legal processes in Nigeria. The NIN is linked to an individual’s biometric data and personal records, ensuring secure and verifiable identification across government agencies and institutions.
To simplify the process, The GABA Foundation has partnered with Oscar Travel Agency to assist with NIN enrollment in Michigan. We appreciate your trust in us and are committed to making this process as seamless as possible.
